RCIA- Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

STU Campus Ministry invites you to join “Growing in the Faith”- Formation program for those who would like to participate in the sacramental life of the Church.  Together we will experience joy when you receive your sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. This program is also open to those students who would like to begin a learning journey about the Catholic faith and its teachings. Everyone is welcome to participate.

RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Those preparing for the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation (RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) would need to attend to weekly classes beginning the Fourth week of October during Fall Semester. Classes will finish at the completion of Spring Semester before final exams. An informative session will be given the third week of October. The RCIA classes are for 28 weeks, with a co-requisite to attend Mass on Saturdays or Sundays. Meeting days will be determined once the group is established according to students’ schedule. Material will be provided every week. We will use the Youcat (Youth Cathechism of the Catholic Church) as a resource. The purchase of this text is optional.

“The Church needs you, your enthusiasm, your creativity and the joy that is so characteristic of you. A great Apostle of Brazil, Blessed José de Anchieta, set off on the mission when he was only nineteen years old. Do you know what the best tool is for evangelizing the young? Another young person. This is the path to follow!”

Pope Francis’s homily for World Youth Day’s closing Mass – Brazil, 2013.

Let’s begin this journey together with a loving and opened heart to transform and be transformed by our awesome God…
